With a view to bring the Government closer to the public, for 24 hours a day and seven days in a week, this web site is launched. It is envisaged that with the emerging wave of Information Technology, and sincere effort from the Government, a more steamlined and efficient government-public relation will be developed.
Morigaon is basically an agrarian district. It is situated between 26.15 degrees North and 26.5 degrees North latitude and between 92 degree East longitude. Morigaon Town, the headquarter of the district is situated 78Kms from Dispur, the state capital. Morigaon district is the second smallest district of Assam. The present Morigaon district was a sub-division of Nagaon district since 26th January, 1972. This was upgraded to a district vide Government notification number GAG(n) 370/87/107 dated 29-09-1989. The district started functioning as a full-fledged district from 14-10-1989, when first Deputy Commissioner Late. Nilimoy Chaudhury took over charge.
